Troubleshoo n g (connued)
7. Break in period; operaon synchronizaon. Minor “metallic” sounds due to
driveline “backlash” factors and meshing alignments of power carrying
components might be emied occasionally, but should not be excessive.
More noises may be experienced during the rst 50-miles of use aer
installaon of Powertrax No-Slip Tracon System (break-in period). If
frequent or excessive, a problem might exist that would require correcon
before operang the vehicle.
8. Short turning radius; large steering angle. During sharp turns, vehicles that
have high turning angles may surge, causing steering diculty and re wear.
Reduce turning angle and decelerate.
9. Drive wheel rolling-radii unequal. If the rolling-radii of the drive res are
unequal, the smaller rolling-radius re will turn faster and will overrun the
other re, causing the other re to be the primary driving wheel. Tires with
equal rolling-radii will correct this condion. Either adjust re pressures or
or replace res as required.
10. Wheel alignment incorrect. Realign wheels to correct problem.
11. Poor tracon surface; high crown in road. Vehicles have tendency to
“shtail” or sideslip on slippery and icy roads, especially sloping towards
curve. This condion is normally more pronounced with a tracon adding
dierenal than with a convenonal “open” dierenal. Stability can be\
beer retained, if sideslip occurs, by decelerang. ***Cauon: Do not
apply the brake or brake very carefully only if necessary using extreme
cauon. Loss of vehicle control may result.
